    2. Clogh in Irish means stone and as far as I know Kildare does not have much of a stony landscape. Clogheen means little stone. There is also a townland named Cloghgarret Glebe in the parish of Kildare. Mr J T Arthur Tyne & Wear (formerly Co Durham) England.
