Many thanks for all responses to my request. I did not invent or spell the town name phonetically. I found it on the Emigrant Savings Bank site through Ancestry.com. The first spelling is how they indexed it; the second is how it appeared to me by viewing the original online, BUT I am unfamiliar with towns in Kildare. The handwriting is a bit tough to decipher online. If any kind souls have access to Ancestry.com, and would not mind viewing my g-grandfather's 2 bank accounts & notes to each, you might be able to determine the town name, especially if you are familiar with County Kildare towns [which I am not]. Both account details, in 1862 and 1866 do state County Kildare spelled fully. Please e-mail me offlist, if you are able to check the Emigrant account details. Many thanks to an adventurous one!
