    3. Hi, My GGGrandfather was born in East Menth and married a girl from Kildare.in about 1810. I cannot find such a place and am wonder if it is just a small part of Kildare. Note I am not sure I have spelt Menth correctly as I transcribed from a copied enumerator's original form. What RC Church would they have married in and if so is a research of their records possible? Thanks, Don Reynolds in Sydney

    3. Hi Don, My grandmother came from Kildare and I seem to think that you will find that the Menth you mention could be Meath. I don't know much about RC Church names but I do know that my people from Kildare had their records in Naas. It seems to be the Diocese for a lot of places just like Sydney is the diocese for many suburbs and all records from other parishes are held at the Diocese. Perhaps if you put County Kildare into your search engine you may be able to find the Kildare Family History Centre. 3. Hello Shirley, Thank you for your email. I check again and I am convinced that the transcribers mistook an a for an n in the enumerators worksheet. I am not familiar with term, "Naas", is it a place name or an acronym I have checked out the Killdeer Web Site ands intend writing to them to enquire how much help the can be with the very little data I have before committing paying 45e plus for the research. The details of the data I have from 1851 Census is: Patrick REYNOLDS, born Ireland, East Meath about 1786, occupation, clerk in solicitor's office Bridged, wife born abt 1787 Circumstantial evidence from other sources Thomas REYNOLDS, son born abt 1815, married, Mary FROST 1835, occupation Clerk in isolator's office I have no details on when they migrated to the UK but were at the marriage of Thomas & Mary Kind regards Don Reynolds ---- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Parker" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 26, 2005 9:08 PM Subject: RE: [IRL-KILDARE] Where is East Menth? > Hi Don, My grandmother came from Kildare and I seem to think that you will > find that the Menth you mention could be Meath.
