Hi Annette, I think you and I have corresponded before! :) I thought I had the answer as I recalled SCULLY'S census of DUNNES in Timolin in 1840 had the following "legend" x or x1 ......under 8 years of age in 1840 b.......illegitimate and entered in 1840 a or a1 .....emigrated to America between 1840 and 1849 g.........gone from the district between 1840 and 1849 d or d1.........died between 1840 and 1849 m..........got married between 1840 and 1849 - ..........left home or got married between 1840 and 1849 but there's not a lot of help there, unfortunately. SP for sponsers would probably be your best bet. Maybe the S was omitted for some reason?
