Hello all I may have found my Patrick Dowling arriving in NY in Apr 1852 on the ship Sarah G Hyde. This time frame agrees with other data I have, and he is about the right age at 22. From the passenger list: Peter DOWLING, age 50, laborer Jas THURSBY, age 20, laborer Patrick DOWLING, age 22, laborer Eliza THURSBY, age 20, laborer My Patrick is from Castledermot. I have his parents and siblings arriving here in 1854. It would appear Patrick is travelling with Peter Dowling and the Thursbys. I have found no Peters in my line --- and no Thursby people.
