Kildare, there is a Farrell family going back hundreds of years. The local historian, Mr. John Colgan, has done excellent research on the town and its inhabitants. Here is a link to some wonderful, searchable data on who lived where in the town between 1850 and 1967. You can search for Farrells. There are still plenty of Farrell descendants in the area today. http://www.kildare.ie/leixliphistory/documents/cancellation-books-leixlip-environs.pdf Another useful website is that of the county library http://kildare.ie/ehistory/ There is a gentleman working there who is a wonderful source of assistance should you wish to contact him, Mr. Mario Corrigan. Also, it's worth noting, if you ever have the chance to look up parish records for Leixlip, they originally fell under the parish of the neighbouring town of Maynooth. Best of luck with your search!
