I looked up Calverstown in wkipedia and found that it is a small village 6K or 4 M. south of Kilcullen, 16km from Athy, Kildare, Naas, and Newbridge. The name Carrighill Upper seems to have lots of new development as if you google Calverstown you get the real estate listings first. If you go to www.eircomphonebook.ie and you will see 59 O'Toole', and 283 Doyle's On the left side is a breakdown of the area's and with your map you could pick O'Toole's 16 Naas, Doyle's 283 (63 Naas, 27 Newbridge, 36 Athy)who live in the area, and send them a heads up letter -or pick a few from the closest areas and do the same. You would be surprised how many people still live in the same areas. I had a woman from Crete phone the ones I sent her (rather than a letter) and within two calls hit the right ones. I prefer a letter explaining who you are looking for and what you know then if you get no answers before you go you can phone people once in Kildare. No postal codes required outside Dublin. Newspapers, I don't live in Ireland so I would just google, www.onlinenewspapers.com, www.Irish Independent.ie I liked to read the Irish Times but I would look for the small local paper. (This is interesting a google book from the Journal of the Royal Society of antiquaries, "Two bronze age celts found in Calverstown". www.kildare.ie/heritage/history/genealogy has a directory might give you something. www.leinsterleader.ie (either an ad or letter to the editor) www.kildare-nationalist.ie www.countykildare.com www.countycouncilkildare.ie (email: secretar@hildarecoco.ie emails: kildarehistory@gmail.com County Archives: localhistory@kildarecoco.ie Local Studies: kildaregenealogy@kildarecoco.ie.ie Co. Kildare Federation of local history groups with phone numbers for each area or: kildarehistory@gmail.com That's about the best I can do from here in Canada Annette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
