Happy New Year! If anyone wants to see what has been added in 2009 use this tinyurl: http://tinyurl.com/ylkyaar If you want to narrow to a county just put +kerry or +cork or +ryan (as examples) and you can narrow down items added in the last year. Or take the 2009 out and search all :) Cheers, Christina http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ http://www.genrecords.org/irfiles/

Hi I've just read a post from Michael J. Wall, local historian/genealogist for the Castledermot area, and I'm just wondering, Michael, if you could give me an educated guess on the following query: My g-grandfather, Michael Timmons born c. 1840 says on the 1901 census (completed in his own hand) that he was born in Dublin, but on the 1911 one (completed by his daughter), it says he was born in Kildare! I'm just wondering if you could give me a bit of advice about which county you think I should be concentrating my search? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated - after nearly 20 years, I'm no nearer to finding "my" Michael Timmons and it's very frustrating!! Thanks in advance. Hello All, Recently I found a death record for my second g. grandfather Thomas Broughal/Braughal. (Last name is often spelled with other close variants). Thomas Broughal died in Newark, NJ, USA on April 16th, 1882. His age was given as 70 which I think was a few years above his actual age. Thru the IFHF and the County Wicklow Heritage Centre I found a birth/baptismal record for a Thomas Broughall from 1816 which I think was his. Parents names on this record were William Broughall and Honor/Hanah. Family was RC and Parish listed was Dunlavin. Later a sister to this Thomas was born and baptised on 08/30/1818 Parish of Valleymount. Later my second g. grandfather Thomas Broughal/Braughal was married at Ballymore Eustace Parish to Esther Poland on 04/29/1840. (Ballymore Eustace Parish stretches between County Kildare & Wicklow. It is just north of Dunlavin where I think my Thomas Broughal/Braughal was born in 1816). Children of Thomas and Esther born and baptised at Ballymore Eustace Parish were: James, 07/22/1841; Hugh, 1843; a second James, 02/24/1846; Mary, 03/06/1848; Joseph, 02/09/1851. The family emigrated to Newark, NJ about 1853. My great grandmother Esther Mary Braughal was born in Newark in July 1854 to the same parents. Later another sister Mary was born in Newark in October 1857. Do these Broughal/Braughal family names from Counties Kildare/Wicklow connect with anyone out there. I am happy to share my information with anyone who inquires. I lasted posted about my Broughal/Braughal's about one year ago. Thanks, Jack Smith

Just wanted to let you know that we have just added forms for sharing individual Birth, Marriage and Death records on the IGP Archives site. There is a link to Submission Forms on the main page and on each County's index page. Or you can go direct to: http://www.genrecords.org/irfiles/ Pick Births, Individual Marriage Records or Death Certificates. These forms were originally created for the USGenWeb Archives. They have a lot of fields that don't apply on an Irish Certificate, so just leave those blank. When time permits we hope to tweak the forms to be a better match. Non-Irish certs are okay IF they name the county or other place in Ireland. We would like to test the forms and would appreciate submissions. Thanks! Christina http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/

Thank you so much for your reply,i have a church marriage record for John Doody and Bridget Doyle but the date is 12/09/1875 whereas your information is 9/9/1875,why would there be a difference? Thanks for Johns mothers name and Bridgets mothers name which was not on the record its great to fill in the blanks you come up against. How did you work out Bridget Doyles DOB?I have the 1901 census which puts her age as 42 and the 1911 census as 55!!! I am interested in finding information on my Grandfather John Doodys brothers Matthew,Thomas, and his sisters Catherine,Lizzie, and Esther who i know married James Leigh and had 2 children Patrick and John noted on 1911 census and lived at no 32 Belan so lived close to John and Bridget. I have never had very much information about my Grandfather only what you would have read in my first post so i took a punt and started my search with the 1911 census and have been following through with this family as they were the only Doody to come up with a John that matched the scant information given to me by my father,so i hope i am on the right track. RePhoto/ the only photo of my grandfather is a large framed head&shoulder photo taken on his wedding day which hangs in my parents home in Ireland,i am trying to have a picture taken so if successful will let you know. Are there any Doodys or Leighs living around Belan/castledermot area? Thanks so much. Regards Cathy Gallivan. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: ewarther Surnames: Fitzgerald, Bayly, Bayley, (and Wall?) My ancestor is Anna Maria FItzgerald, born 1824, probably in Dublin, but who was said to be of Knavistown, co. Kildare. Thank you for any insights to this.
