Author: elizabethgibbs24 Surnames: Malone Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.kid.general/2294.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is what I know about Catherine Malone. She arrived in Australia in 1854 aboard the *China". She then married Joseph Lewis 1857 and they had the following children Louisa born 1858, Isabella 1862 & Joseph 1865. Catherine then married my gg grandfather Stephen Thomas Baldwin in Mudgee in 1868 and they had the following children Emily 1868, James 1871. Stephen deserted her about 1874 never to be heard from again. We have not been able to trace Stephen from then on and think he may have changed his name to "Moutree" There was a warrant issued in Gulgong for deserting Catherine and leaving her with no means of support and that is where the name Moutree came from. Catherine died in Peak Hill in 1893. Her death notice is in the name of Baldwin but her memorial card has her as Catherine Lewis and that's about all I know. Kildare c. 1830. She married Michael O'Rorke/Rorke - no date or place, unfortunately - but I know my grandfather, Christopher O'Rorke/Rorke was born Dublin City c. 1869. Have never been able to find any other siblings of Christopher. Bridget died in Dublin city (probably Rathmines/Ranelagh area) sometime between April 1901 and June 1902. I did have some of your info, but thanks for the rest. I wonder if anyone is researching the Sheersons of Clonard, Meath. I am interested in Robert and Catherine Sheerson. I was wondering if they had a son called George born about 1807. I have seen their other children up to 1801 on the Meath site, but haven't been able to find out any more about them.
