I am looking for information about my ancestors, James Larmon (Larmin/Larmour/Larmer/Armour)and Elizabeth Stafford (possibly Eliza/Elisabeth), who apparently lived in the Clane area of County Kildare, Ireland around the time that that their son David was born in 1861/1865. An online reference to David's birth record notes that his birth/baptism occurred in the registration district of Naas, area of Clane and Timahoe North on 1 Apr 1865 (actual document may read 1861). I am unaware as to whether or not they had additional children. Without any surviving family history or definitive dates to work with, I have not been able to uncover any factual information other than the above. I am particularly trying to determine the birth, death, and marriage dates James and Eliza- as well as the names of their relatives. There are some online references to old newspaper articles tying the Larmons to the town of Prosperous and the Staffords to the town of Celbridge around that time (all seem to be in County Kildare, near Naas), but that's about all I've come across so far. Any help would be appreciated, and of course I would enjoy hearing from possible relatives. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There are some Hennessys listed on the 1911 Census for that town and if you could get a marriage cert for Thomas and Elizabeth it should hopefully list parents names and you might be able to see them on this Census and the 1901 which are all available free online. Hope some of this helps. Patrick. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Again, wrong parents! He really is a mystery man - I mean, he has to have been born (aged 32 in 1901, 39 in 1911) c. 1869-1872, and was almost certainly baptised (he was RC). And he said on both censuses that he was born Dublin city. He also said on his 1902 marriage that his mother was Bridget (but would she have been his step-mother??) and his father Michael (step father??). If it was you, where would you go from here? And I've since discovered when/where "my" Bridget O'Rorke is buried (RC), which is fantastic, so that's one query solved! Getting her baptism without knowing her parents names - that's another day's work. I also know that there's a marriage in 1861, Kildare for a Bridget McNally, and also one for Michael Rourke, Kildare, 1861, but unfortunately they didn't marry each other. Now Christopher - that's another matter. I've been trying to find a birth/baptism for him for over 25 years, but with no success. I actually have over 25 certs from different counties, but not with parents Michael and Bridget. It's a mystery! Michael Rorke is not in the 1901 census, but Bridget is, but under "Rurke" (have informed National Archives). And I know Christopher didn't emigrate - I have all his details from 1901 up to 1935 when he died. Thank you again for the trouble you went to for me - it's much appreciated.
