Are there any Harrison's (Harrisson) mentioned (from Monasterevan)? Thanks, Judy B.
Hi, I have never heard of this reference. Can you check to see if the Swords family is mentioned? Colleen
They are not listed in "Rebellion in Kildare 1790-1803". Seeking info. regarding the following family. Martin Cahill, born circa 1802, Co Kildare married Margaret Kelly, born circa 1800, possibly Inchaquire. At the time of the Primary Valuation (1852) the family were at Calverstown Little, near Ballymount in the civil parish of Davidstown and the catholic parish of Crookstown. Known children all born Co Kildare were: James Cahill, (my great-grandfather) born circa 1832. Went to America as a young man but returned and later settled in Co Durham, England where he married Co Sligo girl Mary Milmoe at Brooms catholic chapel, Co Durham in 1860, they had 9 children including my grandmother Mary. James died Co Durham 1903. Margaret Cahill, born circa 1839, married Anthony Hart at St Cuthbert's catholic chapel, Durham City in 1864, emigrated to the US in 1867. Julia Cahill, born circa 1843, married James Callaghan at St Cuthbert's catholic chapel, Durham City in 1871, died Durham City 1898. Thomas Cahill, born circa 1841, succeeded his father at family home, married widow Catherine Nolan nee Brophy of Kilrush at Suncroft catholic chapel in 1886, no children, died Calverstown Little 1901. Occupation was Bog Ranger. Marcella Cahill, born? (before 1843) married George Butler of Ballymount at Crookstown catholic chapel in 1864. Known children, all born locally and baptised Crookstown, Martin (1865) Bridget (1867) and Mary (1869). I am particularly interested in what become of this Butler family. There must have been at least one other Cahill sibling, as the informant on Martin Cahill's Death cert. in 1882 was "Kate Ryan, granddaughter" I am particularly interested in this cousin of my grandmother, who by 1882 was possibly old enough to be married. Finally the informant on the death cert. of Margaret Cahill, nee Kelly in 1870 was John Keegan of Inchaquire. In 1842 a John Keegan son of Christopher Keegan and Bridget Kelly was baptised at Crookstown. Interestingly the godfather was Martin Cahill, leading me to believe that my Kelly's had a link with, or originated from Inchaquire. Any assistance will be gratefully appreciated Mr J T Arthur, Ryton, Tyne & Wear, England.
Hello everyone, I am researching my great grandfather Patrick DELANEY[b.1864], his wife Mary nee DEEGAN[b.1865], son Michael[b.1886], daughter Mary[b.1889], son Christopher[b.1896], and daughter Ellen[b.1898] - all children born in County Kildare. Does this family look familiar to anyone please? Patrick Joseph DAY Durham City England
I am interested in any information that some one who has access to the records could find about the Flood family in Kilcullen, Kildare. Also the Coady family for Naas and Kildare City. It would be Edward Coady, MD in Kildare, Kildare and Daniel Patrick Coady, MD in Naas. Any other Coadys and Floods would also be appreciated. Thank you Paula A2

Regarding the Kildare census. Any findings on the name Losty would be greatly appreciated. I believe my Great-grandfather Michael Losty was born there is 1851. He came to America in the 1870's.
Hi Marge, Oh, OK! Great. My family was in Killmeague, mostly, and also in Mylerstown and Milltown in Allen Parish. I am most interested in connecting with the family of James Swords and Mary Fannin. Children included Michael b. 1878, and Edward b. 1865. I have all of their names, too, just not in front of me. Also interested in the family of ? Swords and Mary Clinton, somehow related to this first family. I have a will dated 1908 of a Mary Swords, Mylerstown, Robertstown, Co. Kildare, who names Michael Swords of Mylerstown her executor (evidently he was the son Michael to whom she left the bulk of her property). She left other itmes to her sons Dennis, and I think Patrick and Edward (I don't have the will in front of me), and she said her daughters had already been taken care of. There is a grave in Allen Parish Churchyard of a Mary Swords died this date, b. 1826. It contains the inscription: Erected by Margaret Swords in memory of her beloved brothers and sisters. Michael died 7th May 1901 aged 56 years Patrick died 15th Aug 1906 aged 50 years Eliza died 5th Jan 1908 aged 60 years Mary died 9th Jan 1908 aged 82 years Paddy died 15th Mar 1958 aged 77 years Their grandson Robert W. Swords died 23rd Oct 1967 Liam Swords died 13 May 1997 aged 24 years I think the Mary on the tombstone is the same one who wrote the will. But I don't know if the people buried with her were her children. If they were and the Michael on the tombstone died in 1901, how could she leave the bulk of her property to him in 1908? Thanks for all your help. Colleen
Colleen, We are referring to the 1901 census for Kildare. Where in Kildare was your family located? I will check to see how many films Kildare is on. Hi Marge, I offhand can't find those postings you referred to. I have a film at my FHC that has the births and marriges from Allen Parish on it. I have compiled a database of entries for Swords and related names in my family and other names that came along for the ride - Nolan, Malloy, Farrell, etc. I can't remember the number of the filme - I think it is 104XXX. Is this what you are referring to? Colleen
Hi Marge Just noticed your posting to me. My Noud family come from around Athy Kildare Variations of the Name NOUD : GNOUD, GONOUD, KNOUD, KNOWD, NOWD NAUD O'NOUD KNODE. Hello Marge...nice of you to respond. My Townlands are Moyle Abbey, Ballytore Hill and Inchaguire - all in County Kildare. My great grandfather Patrick DELANEY was resident in Ballyore Hill when he married Mary DEEGAN from Inchaguire in 1885. They were married in Crookstown. When my grandmother Mary was born in 1889, Patrick and his wife Mary were residing in Moyle Abbey. It is my understanding that Ballytore Hill, Inchaguire, Crookstown and Moyle Abbey were all townlands in County Kildare. If you can help with any information about Patrick, Mary and family I would be extremely grateful. Kindest regards Patrick PS: Perhaps I can contribute to any costs you incur?
Colleen, Check my previous postings to Patrick and Rod. If we are all on the same roll of film, I will go ahead and rent it from Salt Lake and see what I can find. Give me some more information on names in your family.
