Adding to the Sullivans...mine are from Abbeydorney, near Tralee. My gggrandfather was Michael Sullivan who emigrated to Boston in the early 1850s. He married Catherine Kelly of Athlone. They were the parents of boxing champ, John L. Sullivan. My great grandmother was his sister Annie.

All this talk about Sullivans has got me going on a trail I had virtually given up on. Anyone recognise John Sullivan (b.c.1808, parents James and Maria/Mary)and Margaret Mahoney (b.c.1814 parents Jeremiah and Ellen). They married in Poplar in the East End of London in 1842. Clearly their parents came over in the early part of the 19th C. With those surnames I would have thought Kerry was the likely origin county but it could equally have been Cork. Children James, Mary, John Long shot!
