Hello, I am new to your list and would like to post my family names. I am looking for any information on Dennis DESMOND born 1811 in Ireland. His parents were Patrick DESMOND and Ellen or Helen O'DONNELL. Dennis married Margarete? and had the following children in Canada: Patrick born 1845 in Canada Ellen born about 1843 in Canada Margarete born about 1847 in Canada. By 1850 they were living in Cincinnati Ohio. Can anyone tell me if there were DESMOND or O'DONNELL families living in County Kerry Ireland in the early 1800's? I have looked for them in County Cork without much luck. Thank you, Janet

Janet, I am related to Donnelly's in County Kerry. My 4x great grandmother Julia Donnelly born circa 1790, wife of James Kerrisk/Healy. Their son Daniel was born 1811 in Coolcaslagh. They moved to Beenathuane, Killeentierna, where more children were born. My other 4x great grandmother Ellen Donnelly born circa 1795 wife of Cornelius Foran, daughter Nora born 1820, they lived in Teernaboul(next to Coolcaslagh). I have a marriage record for Nora Foran/Daniel Healy stating they needed a dispensation to wed. I believe the 2 women were niece and aunt. I can prove without a doubt that Daniel was indeed the son of Julia Donnelly, he died in Worcester, MA 1895, mother was Julia O'Donnell. Nora Foran I have less solid proof but I have researched all the children of Cornelius Foran/Ellen Donnelly and all indications point to her records being correct. The researcher that sent the marriage record believes the 2 woman were related. There is another Donnelly in the Teernaboul/Coolcaslagh area, a Margaret, I have yet to determine how she relates to Julia and Ellen Donnelly. I have no Desmonds' on any of my records nor in my immigrant database.
