Hi Trish, When I visited Parish of Kilgarvan I went to the local tourist book store in the largest town.Happened to be Kenmare. I found great little books authored by locals on the subject .Staying in the town really helped as well. While there to find answers of any questions you may have the local grocery store is THE place to go. I got a phone number of the local town historian who came to see us at a local cafe. The local cafe had books as well I looked at. -- Everyone knew everyone, there are only 200 some people living in the town of Slaghts. Have fun!
