(I found this information on the webpage: http://www.irishgenealogy.ie) St. John's church is the current church in Ballybunnion, but it is a newer church -- late 1800s. Would it have been the church in 1839? And would there be any records at the present church going back that far? I plan to visit the area in Sept. of this year. The four Sullivan "children" -- Daniel, Michael, Mary and Patrick -- came to the U.S. when they were young -- about 1862. The family stories are vague -- either the rest of the family died in the famine or were cleared off their land and could no longer make a living. They never went back to Ireland. Any help on the Church? Thanks, Trish To contact the IRL-KERRY list administrator, send an email to IRL-KERRY-admin@rootsweb.com. Patsy, I think you are right. I have looked at it on Google Earth and have been directed to some pictures taken in the last year, so I believe it didn't fall victim to the wrecking ball! I will definitely search it out when we are there in September. Interesting that Padraig O'Sullivan was quoted in your article. My gr grandfather's father was Patrick O'Sullivan (mother was Mary Kiely)! I've been told though that "Sullivans are thick on the ground in Kerry." Thanks for your help!
