Kind regards, Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: <jagb@mcmedia.com.au> To: <Ib4eexcept@aol.com> Cc: <IRL-Kerry@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 6:58 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-KERRY] SUGRUE http://www.clannosiochru.com/index.shtml Hello Eileen, I guess like many names if you go back enough generations then they often have the same place of origin and were therefore possibly all related. The above link is dedicated to members of the O’Siochrú Clann scattered in several countries around the world. There are a great number of ways to spell SUGRUE etc. The site gives an overview to the history of the name. Regards Jenny -----Original Message----- From: Ib4eexcept@aol.com Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 5:43 AM To: irl-kerry@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-KERRY] SUGRUE One of my g-g-grandmothers is Mary SUGRUE. If I"ve found the correct marriage, she was from Glaantane/Glantane, near the town of Ballynane on the Dingle Peninsula -- so a fairly long distance from Ardfert but it's just a short distance across the water to Dromavalla. Is it known whether the SUGRUEs from Glantane were related to either of these other families? Below is possible marriage of my Mary SUGRUE - note that Prior parish includes Dungegan which is where Michael & Mary settled, but this record may be a different couple, as my Michael would be about age 34 in 1854: County Kerry, Prior [Catholic] parish Marriage Register 1851-1860, : 25 Feb 1854 Michael Sullivan & Mary Sughrue; [bride] from townland: Glaantane [aka Glantane]; witnesses: Daniel Moran & Irasmes Bagn_ {Bartholomew SHEA}; {clergy Rev. Patrick Foley} Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
