I'm rejoining the list after many years hoping some new data may be available. I've checked list archives and there don't seem to be many researchers of the above surnames, despite Cronin being fairly prominent in Kerry records. Perhaps they are more widespread further north outside Dunkerron & Kenmare. The Irish Times map of RC Parishes in Kerry shows Templenoe as the local parish, but when you look at records on the Irish Genealogy website it seems to be split between Templenoe and Kenmare. I wonder if anyone knows of pre 1800 records. The earliest Cronin BDM record that I can find in all Kerry is the 1820 marriage of the above. Myles and Honora had five children baptised in Dunkerron - John 1821, Mary 1824. Margaret 1831, Myles 1837 and Cornelius 1840. Trees based on records from USA suggest a Daniel & Timothy as well. Margaret Cronin b1831 was my great great grandmother. She was sent to Australia in 1850 from Kenmare Workhouse as a Famine Orphan. Both parents are shown as deceased. I'd like to know the origins of her parents, when they died, and what happened to Margaret's siblings. Margaret's story appears on the Irish Famine Memorial website along with over 4,000 other orphan girls http://www.irishfaminememorial.org/ Peter BOOTH - Family Historian, SYDNEY ---------------------------------------
