Talking about Moynihan, I thought you may like to see this information. I had transcribed, several years ago, records in a cemetery in my home town of Hadley, Massachusetts which also contains graves of Amherst residences, as well. Dear Listers, quite a while back, in 2000, I posted on the Kerry website, some gravestone inscriptions for (a small cemetery) at St. Brigid's Cemetery in Hadley, MA. I had completed my survey of only the headstones that mention a place of birth in Ireland on the stone. The Moyhihan name has come up recently, so I thought I would post this record: MOYNIHAN, Daniel born at Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland died 5/8/1876 (year hard to read) age 50 (Per the 1870 US census, he lived in Hadley, as well as a John Moynihan. Both lived on the same road.) {If the above (Moynihan)information is correct, then this information could be his from http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords : Area - KERRY (RC) , Parish/Church/Congregation - KILLARNEY Baptism of DANIEL MOYNIHAN of KNUCKAESERNATE on 12 May 1826 Date e.g. 13/08/1710 Name DANIEL MOYNIHAN Date of Birth 12 May 1826 (BASED ON OTHER DATE INFORMATION) Address KNUCKAESERNATE Father DERMOT MOYNIHAN Mother MARGARET MORIARTY Further details in the record Father Occupation NR Sponsor 1 CORNELIUS MOYNIHAN Sponsor 2 MARGARET MOYNIHAN Priest REV. I also have a John Crowley who married a Bridget Scannell (aka Scanlon) in Glenflesk Parish, County Kerry, Ireland in 1895, and removed to Western Massachusetts. Their son was John Crowley born in Dereen, Glenflesk, County Kerry, Ireland in 1861. His death record shows his mother was Bridget Scanlon, rather than Scannell as in his birth record. ~Patsy ----- Original Message ----- From: irl-kerry-request@rootsweb.com To: irl-kerry@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, September 13, 2013 1:27:37 PM Subject: IRL-KERRY Digest, Vol 8, Issue 145 Today's Topics: 1.
