    1. [IRL-KERRY] Sheas from Waterville

    3. Rick mee boy, You are in Luck. I know Waterville, I do. Spent 2 weeks there a while back doing family history of DENNEHY. Start with the online church and civil records. Waterville is in Kerry. You could say it is a townland but it is surrounded by old townlands that are now incorporated into Waterville. Many ae spelled a jillion different ways. Take Garrannafulla, for instance. There's Spunkane, really part of the current village of Waterville and Murreigh across the road etc. There is one C of I church and i Catholic church in town - St. Finian's. All their records are now online in the kerry records. Commanes is out of town across the lake. Trace backward. Start with the telephone book. Look up the Sheas and send them a letter. I connected after my visit using DNA. The old Roman Catholic parish was called DROMOD. That was also the name of the civil parish. The 19th cent. church and its graveyard are in utter ruin, derelict they call it. They are located 10 miles or so East of Waterville in or near Kileentierna. Lovely countryside. The St Finian church has a graveyard around it and the stones are legible. Go there. Email me off list with specific questions. In my family history, I have no sheay/shay that I know of in IRE. I don't even know the townland for Waterville or what parish would be there nor what churches are in Waterville.
