This portion of it was included in Kenmare RC parish, at least back in the mid-1800's it was. Rossacoosane lies 3 to 4 miles W of Kenmare town, and stretches from the Kenmare River estuary northward for about 2 miles. At the southern end of the townland, at the N 70 national road (the "Ring of Kerry"), there is an RC church - which might be considered as being in "Templenoe", although there is no townland of that name. If you are having trouble finding the townland on a map, the similarly-large townland of Greenane lies along Rossacoosane's western edge, and Lacka townland along the eastern edge. As of 2000, there were at least 40 buildings in Rossacoosane townland, most of them in the southern end. 3. Hi, I was driving around the Rossacoosane and Templenoe region in August 2010 and have a couple of photos of the Rossacoosane school, waterfront area and the Templenoe RC church if any are interested. I have heard you can't upload them to this site but contact me via this email address if you would like them. Good searching, fred in Eleebana, NSW seeking Hicksons and Carters from Kerry. -----Original Message----- From: irl-kerry-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-kerry-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of PeteScherm@aol.com Sent: Sunday, 3 November 2013 12:37 AM To: hhundt@earthlink.net; irl-kerry@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IRL-KERRY] Location of Roscossane Heather writes: === I've been trying to locate the townland or placename of Roscossane, which may either be located in the Tuosist or Kenmare Parish === Heather, As Clare mentioned, this is undoubtedly the large (nearly 2 sq. miles) townland of Rossacoosane, located in Templenoe civil parish.
