I concentrated on the immediate Rathmore area, as you suggested, but found nothing suitable there - or even across the border into Cork. However, there are two large adjacent townlands, located about 6 miles WNW of Rathmore town. They are Maulyarkane (658 acres) and Maulykevane (552 acres). Either one of these is large enough to have contained small, sub-denominational, settlements - such as Maulynagh - or Maulinagh. I have a CD of Kerry six-inch maps, but the resolution in this remote part of the county is poor (six-inch map 59) and I can't read any useful information from it in this case. Probably, the OSI map reader for historical maps of Kerry would be clearer (too hard for me to access on my slow dial-up connection [gr], or else I'd do it for you).
