Gee, I don't know who you rented from, but I lost a hubcap, and banged up the mirror on the passenger side---and they not only did not charge us, they thanked us for owning up to the damage----most people don't apparently. We swear by Dan Dooley--cheaper and more user friendly!! I hate Hertz for other reasons, and we weren't satisfied with Avis over the pond either. We were supposed to leave tomorrow for our trip over, but when my husband was diagnosed with cancer, we had to cancel the trip, for now at least. I'll be thinking about you enjoying yourself in Killarney!!! I came in too close to the kerb once and the hub cap got scratched so I went and got a new one. This worry ruined my trip. Just pay the extra insurance.
