Goodmorning John (it's morning over here, not sure where you are) Oh how I wish this were my Edward Kelly. He came to the USA abt 1838 - 1845. It could be possible this is a relation and I will do some research on it. Thank you so much for your response and I will keep my fingers crossed! Sincerely, GiGi John Steitz <johnst@luckbros.com> wrote: Gigi- Your Edward KELLY caught my eye there. My BUCKLEY family was sharing a house with an Edward & Margaret KELLEY in 1861 in Merthyr Tydfil Wales at 4 New Foundland St. The birth year doesn't match as this one has a birth year circa 1837 but you may want to have a look. It is a reach but you can decide that. I have the whole house almost unpacked and have located most of my Ireland genealogy. I have an interesting question which may not have an answer. Thomas Doyle was convicted in Dublin of stealing a tub and sent to Australia in 1838. Anne Kelly married him over in Australia in 1843. This would mean that something happened in my Kelly line between those years as my ggg grandfather, Edward Kelly may have come to the States at that time. Anne would have been abt 18 and I do not know who would have traveled with her over to Australia. When did the potatoe famine start? Was there something else that was going on as well? Patrick Kelly and Catherine Shea Kelly disappeared - and I cannot find them at all. Their children: Catherine Kelly - no records of her b. abt 1817 Edward Kelly - b. abt 1823 - I have records on him Anne Kelly (Kerry County) provided me w/Baptism info she was actually born in 1820 and not 1830 as some of her descedants claim. It is quite a mystery and theories are most welcome! Have a great day!
