Thanks for the story of your ancestors being coachman for Lord Ventry.? I have done some reading about Lord Ventry evicting from Dingle (my ancestors).? I am wondering if anyone knows if the estate papers of Lord Ventry are ever going to be opened for research.? A long while back I was told that they are housed in Dublin, but not available for researchers.? That was about 5 or more years ago. When I was at the National Library in Dublin last year, I asked about Lord Ventry's papers. The archivist helped me and found that the National Library does not have a copy. She then contacted the Libraries in Kerry, and was told by them that they do not have the papers. They said the papers may have been destroyed or are being held by a private party. Since my family is from Ventry, I would hope that someday Lord Ventry's papers appear and are available to view.
