Ok... I couldn't pass this one up and I simply have to make a comment. I am a computer "dork", or... more commonly known as a tech jockey... I took an Internet Securities class over the summer and although Google is a good search engine, it is also one of the worst for allowing your identity and confidential information to get hijacked, along with Yahoo! and others out there. The best you can do is sweep your computer often for tracking cookies, make sure your antivirus software is up-to-date, and scan OFTEN!! If you have a security program that allows you to remove your browsing history, remove cookies, remove temporary files - USE IT! AND OFTEN, like EVERY DAY, several times a day even. I'm not saying don't use these sites... you pretty much have no choice if you don't know where something is on the Internet and you have to search for it... my own ISP uses the Google search engine to power its search feature... basically use these search engines with caution, and alway! s SWEEP YOUR COMPUTER AFTER USING THEM! Use a firewall, and do not permit personal information to be sent over the Internet. Most firewall packages have a feature that blocks personal information from being displayed or sent. Ok... didn't mean to scare the doodles out of anyone... but sometimes a little fear is healthy. ;o) Have fun surfing!!
