Hi I too contacted the IFHF asking about Kerry parish records because I have had great success with the Mayo records. I received the following reply suggesting I contact the people below so I am going to send an email to all of these asking that something be done to bring Kerry into line with the other counties. It may not do any good but it will make me feel better. Plus does anyone know when Kerry will be added to the 1911 census site? Regards Anne "I suggest that you contact the local studies department of Kerry County Library which holds the Tithe Applotment Books, Griffith's Valuation Books, 1901 and 1911 Census, 1926/27 registers of electors, the O'Kiefe, Coshe Mang volumes, all Kerry newspapers dating back to 1820s on microfilm as well as an extensive collection of books/journals/periodicals/files which are all useful for family history research. A couple of days ago I wrote to IFHF, asking about the prospects of records being added from Kerry and Clare. Today, I received this response: "There is no IFHF centre in Kerry; work was done on the records here but there has been no service for many years now. We do not know yet if Co. Clare will agree to join the online research service." IFHF Kitty Researching: Rohan/Roughan/Rowan, Costello, Casey
Thanks a million for sharing that with all of us, Anne. Let that be a lesson to the rest of you. When you have something valuable, share it. Somebody else might share something that you've been looking for. Good Morning Anne and All: Your question; Plus does anyone know when Kerry will be added to the 1911 census site? One answer/observation; With all the trouble Kerry caused in the early 1920's I doubt there's any chance that the "powers that be" were truthful when they promised that Kerry would be the 2nd. County where the 1911 census would be available "on-line, free to everyone", after Dublin County. Love, Jack Sweeney, bright, warmer, springlike Palmer, Pennsylvania.
