You can search the Irish civil registration Index Church of Ireland marriages from 1846 From 1864-1959 for births deaths marriages of all denominations at this link http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails&c=fs%3A1408347 If you see a likely birth registration -take the references e.g. Year Registration district Quarter (only from 1878) volume and page ref. You can then order the cert giving the references at www.groireland.ie You can order a photocopy of the entry and it costs less than the certificate and has the same information on it.
