I have a copy of the birth certificate of my grandfather, Edward Flavin. Someone has clearly written that Edmond Flahaven was born in the townland of Litter. Further research has determined that he was born in the townland of Letter. Sometimes scanning the document doesn't always help. In this case the writer at the Southern Health Board interpreted the townland name as Litter. Kay "Hi to all, I have a copy of the marriage license for my g.g.m. Mary Butler and g.g.f. John Sullivan, married in Cahirciveen in 1866. The license says she was from Lettes. Does anyone have a clue where that is? Dennis Sullivan"
