Calling All Enrights, Again! - She WAS from Ballylongford; Also Flynns from Duagh (Ray Marshall) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Fri, 17 Dec 2010 16:06:48 -0600 (CST) From: "Ray Marshall" <[email protected]> Subject: [IRL-KERRY] Calling All Enrights, Again! - She WAS from Ballylongford; Also Flynns from Duagh To: "Kerry List" <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" When the Kerry Church Records [http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/] came out a year ago or so, I did a bit of searching and discovered the wife of my ggg-grandfather, Maurice Flynn from Craggane, Duagh in the records. Catherine Enright. A couple of Kerry listers contacted me with a bit of help but it seemed that the ancestral home of the Enrights was rather far from Duagh and I shrugged it off. Well, for some stupid reason known only to other family historians, I neglected to do any further searching in the data base. And I lost the Emails in my Windows crash last August. I finally spent some time there in the last week or so scraping up a bunch of great-great uncles and aunts and then decided to go through the marriage files to see if I could find some possible spouses for them. And I found the wedding of Catherine and Maurice that I somehow missed in my first go-round. She was from Aghanagram (L, M, or U) townland, Aghavalen Civil Parish, near the town of Ballylongford, in the R.C. parish of Ballylongford, where the wedding was held by Rev. T. Fitzgerald on 16 Feb 1833. Witnesses Edmund Scanlan and Maurice Enright. Maurice and Catherine had seven children: Hanora/Joanna 1833, Bridget 1835, Patrick 1838, Thomas 1844, Daniel 1846, William 1849 and Catherine 1852. Hanora (my gg-gmother and Daniel emigrated to Michigan before about 1850 and Daniel about 1865 (quite a few years apart). I know nothing more about where the rest of the siblings ended up. So I'd appreciate hearing from any Enright {or Flynn) researchers out there. And a very Merry Christmas to all you Kerry Listers. May you find many clues in your Christmas stockings. Ray Marshall Still surviving in Minneapolis after no domes fell down on me, and I have plenty of warm clothes and shoes to help me keep going. ------------------------------ To contact the IRL-KERRY list administrator, send an email to [email protected] To post a message to the IRL-KERRY mailing list, send an email to [email protected] __________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text.
