Ellen was alive and well in the 1880 Census living with her daughter Catherine and son-in-law Michael with family - widowed!!!!! In a message dated 10/11/2010 4:36:19 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: I have an Ellen Galvin, b. Ireland @1810, married to a John Hughes, b. Ireland @??. Two known children- Catherine, b. Ireland @1842, and Richard, b. Ireland @1850. Ellen Hughes and the two children came to the U.S. between 1850-1860. Catherine married Michael Quinn, b. Ireland @1840, around 1860-61. Can't find much on Richard, and nothing at all on John Hughes. Can't find a death cert. for Ellen Hughes, either, but she died between 1870 and 1875, in Cohoes, New York.
