Irelands First Genealogy Show September 30, 2010 The Back to Our Past show will be held in the RDS in Dublin, Ireland. It will commence at 12.00 noon until 7pm on Friday 15 October 2010. On Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 October, 2010 the event will run from 11am to 6pm. The Back to Our Past show is the first such show in Ireland and it will be held in conjunction with the Over 50s Show but it will be a stand-alone event with its own identity and entrance, which will be in The Industries Hall in the RDS, Anglesea Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Further information is available on events, presentations and exhibitors, www.backtoourpast.com <http://www.backtoourpast.com> . According to the show's organizers: If you ever wondered about tracing your ancestors and did not know where to start, this is the place for you. It will have many exhibitors from the world of genealogy, including the National Library and the National Archives of Ireland and the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland. Genealogy experts will be on hand each day with free advice and several presentations on family and social history will be ongoing to attend in the presentations hall. There will be dozens of other exhibitors as well with genealogy/history books and magazines, family tree charts and advice on how to safely store your valuable documents. Entrance fee to the show is 10 per person but if you email [email protected] you will receive a 50% discount. This 5 entrance fee then will also include free admission to The Coin and Stamp Fair and to the Over 50s show. It promises to be an enjoyable long weekend in Dublin, Ireland. My thanks to Maureen Phibbs for telling me about the show. Posted by Dick Eastman of the Eastmen Online Genealogy Newsletter ( http://blog.eogn.com/ ) on September 30, 2010
Thanks, Ray, for telling us about this. Sure wish I was going to be in Ireland in the next couple of weeks! Especially since I just found a cousin on my father's side in Kilmore who sent me the whole line of descendants of my great great grandfather's brother Ambrose Kelly! Thanks to whoever it was that asked a question that, while trying to help them, led me to think of something to try to find this cousin and write a letter that GOT ANSWERED!
