I have that same problem, and the best I can pin down the arrival is by the birth of the children. The first child was born in Ireland in 1854 The next child was born in the US in 1857. Either Pennsylvania or Maryland, depending on which Census you read. Either way, it eliminates the New York, Boston and Canadian ports of entry. (I hope) Seems they didn't know or care where they landed, and I have no idea how long they lived in either Md or Pa, ,other then the rest of the children were all born in Connecticut. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out from where my ancestors sailed and to which ports in NA they Arrived. Still short too much info.
