I am researching a DANIEL JOSEPH STACK who was born Dec 24, 1886 in Ireland. I have found him in the 1920 and 1930 US Federal censuses living in New York City. He is my husband's great grandfather. He married MARY ANN AHERN in New York City about 1909. They had three daughters, Margaret, Anna, and Rosemary. I found a Daniel Stack who is the appropriate age that came over on the ship Cedric in October 1907. The Daniel Stack who appears in the 1920 & 1930 US censuses states he immigrated in 1908. I think he may be the same Daniel that came over on the Cedric. Daniel Stack left Queenstown, Ireland and arrived to Ellis Island on Oct 4, 1907. He was single and 19 or 20 years old. It looks like 20 was written on top of the 19. The ship's manifest says he is from Abbyfeale, Ireland. His closest relative is his father MICHAEL STACK from Moynsha, Abbyfeale. His passage was paid by a cousin GARRARD GARRETSON who lives in Mamaroneck, Westchester county, New York. In the 1910 US Federal census, there is a Garrard Garretson who lives in Mamaroneck and is a police captain there. The ship's manifest says that Daniel was discharged to his bro in law Peter? Deter? Dexter? Barnett? Garrett? (difficult to read). The passenger listed just above Daniel is also from Abbyfeale. Perhaps they knew each other. He is Daniel Broderick, 19 years, his closest relative is his mother Hanora from BallyMacJordan, Abbyfeale. His passage was paid by his brother Jeremiah (?) who lives at 324 43RD St in NYC. Looking into the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses, I find a Michael Stack and family as listed. I don't quite understand how all the place name listings should go, It's a lot more than city, county, state so I am just going to list them all. 1901 Kerry, N. Kerry Michael Stack 12 years old, son, born in Co. Kerry Hanoria Stack 9 years old, daughter, born in Co. Kerry Stephen Stack, 7 years old, son, born Co. Kerry 1911 Kerry, N. Kerry, Listowel, Moynsha, Shanbally Abbyfeale, Clanmaurice, Duagh Michael Stack, 56 years old, carpenter, born in Co, Kerry Norah Stack 58 years old, wife, married 30 years, mother of 6 children, all living, born in Co. Kerry John Stack 25 years old, son, single, harnessmaker, born in Co. Kerry Michael Stack 22 years old, son, carpenter, born in Co. Kerry Hannie Stack 19 years old, daughter, born in Co. Kerry Stephen Stack, 17 years old, son, born Co. Kerry Daniel is absent from the family in 1911 but still living. He could very well be the one that sailed to America on the Cedric in 1907. I am looking to connect with anyone who may know something about this family. I am also looking to find the correct sequence of place names (ie. city, county, state)as they list in Ireland.
