Hi All, Thank you for helping me with my unreadable marriage record! Paddy provided this translation for me--thank you again Paddy! May 30 anno domini 1869 John Thomas Mary Russel son of John Russel & Margaret Morrison in his 21st year from Linana Main Marinette; & Honora Sullivan daughter of Timothy Sullivan & Anne Coffey of Beal Links Ireland were joined in the bonds of matrimony in the presence of John Sullivan and Thomas Gauze. I know for sure that Thomas Russell was born in Linneus, Maine in 1848. Hanora and Thomas met in America sometime between 1866 and 1869, when they were married in Wisconsin. They ended up in South Dakota and then settling in Washington State. I also know for sure that John Sullivan was Hanora's brother. John followed Thomas and Hanora across the country but stayed in South Dakota. On the census in Wisconsin, they all live near each other and near another Sullivan family but couldn't trace that family after the 1870 census. I have no idea if they were related or not. I don't know if there were other siblings and have not been able to find any record of Hanora, John or their parents in Ireland. I know that Hanora and John left Ireland together to come to America in 1866, per the census records. The only mention of a specific place in Ireland was Killarney, which was listed as the place of birth for John Sullivan, but he died after his wife and without children, so not sure how accurate that information really is. I searched the online records (thanks for sending me the links!), and found a marriage between a Timothy Sullivan and Joanna Coffey in 1832 in Kilcummen, but couldn't find Hanora or John's baptism upon further searching. I'm not even sure this is her parents. Does anyone know what Parish I should search to try to find them in Beal Links? Or if there is another 'next search' I should try? Thanks so much everyone! Best, Donna
