Hi! From your greeting I am assuming that you are writing from Australia. I am researching the name Corridon (Corridan, Corydon, etc.) from Co. Kerry. My great-grandfather, Henry Corridon (b: 1822), and his sister, Mary Corridon (b: 1820), arrived in the US in 1850. They were from the Ballyheigue area and their father was Edmund Corridon who probably died shortly after the birth of Henry. I can trace the Corridons back to Thomas (b: 1708). I cannot identify the Corridons of the next two generations down to Philip Corridon who allegedly was the first Corridon to move to Co. Kerry (c. 1650) and who probably is the ancestor of all the Corridons in Kerry. I have found Philip in the Genealogic and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry of Ireland. He is mentioned not because he is among the landed gentry but because his daughter, Mary, married a Collis, a son of an officer in Oliver Cromwell's army. I don't know if you have ever used the Irish Church Records site (churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie) but I have found it valuable. I located the baptism of Henry there as well as the marriage of my g-grandmother, Elizabeth Sears Corridon, to my step-g-grandfather, Pierce Rice in 1827. I hope you have found this information helpful. If you have any other questions, please ask. Charlie Corden (My grandfather, Henry, changed our name to Corden for God knows what reason. I would like to change it back.)
Charles, Cathy, List, I have 2 Corridon/Corydon obituaries from Worcester, MA..they were brothers, sons of John and Elizabeth Sullivan. A brother Cornelius was in Worcester also he married a Spillane from Barleymount. These Corridon's were from Crohane. I'm not sure if these Corridon's are of interest but I can send the obits. if you need them.
