Marlene: Saw your post on the Kerry site and couldn't resist not responding even if we have not much to offer. My wife's great grandfather was Michael Cronin Baptised in 1829 at Castle Island Parish, County Kerry. This is 15 to 20 miles northeast of Killarney. Michaels parents were Bartholomew Cronin and Honora O'Brien. Bartholomew was born ca 1800. The family has an old book where Bartley wrote Toorenamult so we beilieve that's where he was from. (It's about 8 miles Southeast of Castle Island) Been there twice and met one family but couldn't really connect the generations. Michael was a populat name in the family we met. You wrote your family was from Castleland- do you think it's Castle Island or a different place? Assume your in Australia and hope your not in the flood area. Regards- Bill in Montana USA
