    3. I can understand your question. I have one indirect ancestor who had twelve children from 1852 through 1889. I still have not figured out how old she was when she started and ended. I quit when I figured she was 12 for the first child and 49 for the last. Jan 10, 2011 03:01:21 AM, [email protected] wrote: =========================================== Today's Topics: 1. Her father's name was given at her marriage as Denis Sheehan. Unlike her husband, we had never known where she was born or brought up. Then, in the English 1911 census, she wrote down as her place of birth, Castlemaine. I could find no Margaret Sheehans with a father's name Denis in the parishes in and around Castlemaine except one - in Milltown which is just south of Castlemaine in 1827. The only trouble with this was that it would have had my g grandmother having children up to her fifties, when her last child, my grandfather was born to her at the grand old age of almost 55! Most of her children died as babies or young infants. My question is this: How likely is this to be accurate? Or, would it have been more probable that the first Margaret Sheehan died as a child, and that this was a later child given the same name but NOT registered in the parish baptisms?? Are there holes in the parish records in this area of Kerry? Click on the parishes of Keel (where Castlemaine is located) and Milltown and you will see the dates for which the parish records are known to be available. Keel looks pretty good but there are gaps in Milltown. Of course, that does not mean that they all made it to www.irishgenealogy.ie Regards Anne -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of marysimpson Sent: Monday, 10 January 2011 12:28 a.m. To: [email protected]; Rootsweb Cork Subject: [IRL-KERRY] " Correct " ages for great grandmother My grandfather's mother Margaret Sheehan came from Kerry and moved to London after marrying my great grandfather in Tralee in 1858.
