I'm trying to locate a thesis written by Father William Ferris in the early 20th century entitled "Traditional Game of Caid". William Ferris was a parish priest at Glenflesk, co. Kerry, from 1938 - 1943. In the thesis, he is supposed to have written extensively about the two forms of caid as played in the early to mid 19th century in Kerry. Does anyone know where I might locate a copy of this thesis?
If he was ordained for the Kerry diocese he probably would have attended St Brendans Seminary Killarney - I don't know what University the students attended from there but wonder if it was University College Cork or Maynooth? - if so either may still have the thesis available. Might be worth while to contact St Brendans to check this out.
