To continue the Sullivan discussion, my Sullivan’s are from Listowel. Timothy Sullivan married Ellen Hedderman. They had 17 children between 1856 and 1884. Anyone out there with ties to this family? Veronica
Margaret Sullivan was born before 1823 in Drombrane, Glenbeigh. She was the daughter of Timothy Sullivan and Mary Coffey. She married James Connor sometime in the early 1840s. Their four known children are Mary, Johanna, Margaret and Bridget. They were all born in Glencar before the family moved to the RC parish of Keel, which encompasses the civil parishes of Kiltallagh and Kilgarrylander. Johanna married Jeremiah Moriarty and lived in Aughils, Ballinvoher. Another of the sisters is said to have moved to the United States. I would like to hear from anyone in this family. I haven't been able to determine when Margaret was born and when she died. I have not found her in the 1901 census. I don't even know which townland they lived in in Keel. There are quite a number of Margaret Connors who died in the Dingle Registration District, but I have no way to narrow down the list. William D Romanski Rhode Island

Was it the address mentioned on the childrens' birth certs? My Sullivans were John Sullivan, born c.1863, and his wife Ellen Powell, who married in 1894 and lived in Ballinakilla, Glenbeigh. Ellen Powell was born in 1859 to William Powell and Margaret Mahony, in Ballinakilla. It's possible that this was the William Powell born to John Powell & Margaret Eates in Castleisland near Killarney, but there are difficulties with this, as they were Protestant and he was Catholic. However, he may have converted to marry Margaret Mahony. John Sullivan was born around 1863 to Thade (/Timothy/Tadhg) Shullivan. I suspect this was the John Sullivan born to Timothy Sullivan and Margaret Quirk of nearby Coomsahern, who herself was born in 1842 to Thomas Quirk and Catherine Griffin (*there was bound to be a Griffin in there somewhere*). However, I have no proof of this - Thade Sullivan is the only confirmed parent of John. Steve. The larger of the two - 611 acres - is in Kiltomy civil parish, just 2 to 3 miles S. of Ballyduff village/small town. A 316-acre Muckenagh is in Kilfeighny civil parish, 5 miles SW of Listowel town. The two Muckenagh townlands are separated by 3 to 4 miles, with a half-dozen or so other townlands separating them. I don't know which of the two was referred to in the records. Can I jump on the Sullivan train also ? I am looking for any more information (or validation) that Ellen Sullivan (1808 ?) married a Michael Horan (1805?) and had 5 kids Michael, Jeremiah, Patrick, Honorah, and Julia in the castleisland, castlemaine areas. My gg grandfather was Jeremiah. (b 1828). Hoping to find descendants still in Ireland.... DNA studies show best bet is Knocknagashel, CastleIsland areas. Other DNA matches are Donoghue, Reidy/Roddy/Ruddy. Saw it too Michael. Think there was a mention of the Beara Peninsula but not sure. Hope Haley has a great year. Her father especially looked so proud. Rather ironic that the recent discussions about Sullivan/O'Sullivan led to them crowning the 2013 Rose of Tralee. But my god what the hell has Daithi O'Shea (the presenter) gone and done by growing himself a beard. Some people suit it but he sure don't, at least not in my opinion. All this talk about Sullivans has got me going on a trail I had virtually given up on. Anyone recognise John Sullivan (b.c.1808, parents James and Maria/Mary)and Margaret Mahoney (b.c.1814 parents Jeremiah and Ellen). They married in Poplar in the East End of London in 1842. Clearly their parents came over in the early part of the 19th C. With those surnames I would have thought Kerry was the likely origin county but it could equally have been Cork. Children James, Mary, John Long shot! Hi Bill, how on earth have you managed to get so much information on the multiple places where they lived? Steve. I am assuming you have accessed this site www.blennerhassettfamilytree.com In Killorglin Co Kerry, St Michaels catholic church has records about the Blennerhassetts, Killorglinparish@eircom.net was the email address in 2010. In that area the Dromavally cemetery has a large grave that is apparently Blennerhassetts, the lady in the parish office at St Michaels told me about it. GPS co ords N 52.10723 W 9.77863 co-ords.
