    3. Moulineil - I have been looking at this discussion for a while and then today's version of the spelling reminded me of Moulineil which was given to me years ago by a researcher as a possible place for the birth of my gr gr grandfather, James Shea. This is from the Kenmare Parish records, which would place it in Kenmare. Alas, I doubt that this James Shea is mine but I have children born to a John Shea and Honora Sullivan, if anyone recognizes these parents. 2. === Can someone please advise exactly where is Maulinagh, Co Kerry? === Peter, I did a bit of searching through my many books and maps, but wasn't very successful. I concentrated on the immediate Rathmore area, as you suggested, but found nothing suitable there - or even across the border into Cork. However, there are two large adjacent townlands, located about 6 miles WNW of Rathmore town. They are Maulyarkane (658 acres) and Maulykevane (552 acres). Either one of these is large enough to have contained small, sub-denominational, settlements - such as Maulynagh - or Maulinagh. I have a CD of Kerry six-inch maps, but the resolution in this remote part of the county is poor (six-inch map 59) and I can't read any useful information from it in this case. Probably, the OSI map reader for historical maps of Kerry would be clearer (too hard for me to access on my slow dial-up connection [gr], or else I'd do it for you). 1. [IRL-KERRY] Interesting "Policy Alert" regarding a DNA testing company
    2. The AAAS (American Academy for the Advancement of Sciene - or about that) has just sent the following alert to its members. It's probably in HTML and my mail program doesn't relate to HTML very well. In any case, here it is: FDA Seeks to Halt Popular DNA Testing Company. Last week the Food and Drug Administration sent a letter < http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2013/ucm376296.htm > to the DNA testing company 23andMe asking it to cease marketing its product - a DNA testing kit and accompanying information on disease risk and ancestry. The letter states that "FDA is concerned about the public health consequences of inaccurate results" from 23andMe's test. A 23andMe spokesperson told < http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-25/fda-tells-google-backed-23andme-to-halt-dna-test-service.html > Bloomberg News that, "Our relationship with the FDA is extremely important to us and we are committed to fully engaging with them to address their concerns." Feel free to repost this to other lists if you feel there is anything in it. 2. I agree with Marge in California. I too, paid up front and even though I did find some information, what they offer is vague, until you use the credit and then you find out that it is not the one you are looking for, but it is too late then, the charge is already made. They notified me recently that I still had a large credit remaining and if I did not use a portion of t by the end of the month, I would lose it. I went back to the site, did some looking, used one more credit to find nothing and not I still have a small credit remaining. This remaining credit will probably sit there forever, because it is not enough for one credit, so would have to pay more to increase my credits. When you are looking for a Daniel Sullivan in County Kerry, it is like looking for a needle in the haystack. So much straw and they all look alike. In order to define my Daniel from the others, it would cost me a small fortune. I gave up. Liz in raining Florida, three days and over 5 inches of much needed rain.
