Never say Never. Just found Ambrose married to Alice Enright of Ballylongford 1 May 1846. I think this is my guy. Have to hone up on my search skills as I missed this first time around. Does anyone have these people in their family? Looking for any siblings of Ambrose or Alice Unlces, Aunts, cousins of my ggrandmother, Catherine (Kate). I know when Catherine and John came to Tennessee in 1872 they left relatives behind in Ballylongford. Shirley in MN
Looking for Ambrose Connor (oconnor, connors) and can't seem to find him anywhere. He appears as father of Catherine OConnor at her marriage to John OConnor Feb 14, 1865 in Ballylongford, Listowel, Kerry, Ireland. I found this record on Family Search Ireland Marriages, 1619-1898. I am wondering if he could be listed under another first name. Any suggetions, Listers? Thanks, Shirley in MN

Hi Cathy, Using irishgenealogy.ie I first looked around Listowel, but did not find anything. Then I changed to Duagh & found 4 Baptisms with parents of Thomas Doody & Kate Galvan. All listed as the RC Church Duagh. Here they are Tom Doody 21 Oct 1857 Joan Doody 27 Mar 1860 John Doody 30 Jun 1862 Mary Doody 16 Dec 1864 My guess is their marriage is there someplace. Play around with locations & surnames & you might turn up something??? Hi Caroline, I have always had it in the back of my mind what your motives were, now I know, you are will chasing, as you are well aware the person in question is a relation of mine, I am also well aware as he will also admit that your husband is his son, he has never denied that fact. Where is your husband, why have you been consistently being fighting his battles, why not fight it for himself. Irish law like British law is very simple, make a will, leave it to the cats and dogs home and that is it. I have contacted the person involved and advised him of his legal situation, if he makes a will and I am sure he already has or in the light of the situation you have brought up, I am sure he will, there will not be any legal situation. I think you are well aware he is supporting his sister who is in care, not a cheap exercise, he is paying a lot for her care, and he is much admired for his consideration. I think you have actually shot yourself in the foot. to be forwarned is to be prepared. Brendan
I'm not sure what you mean by - amending his birth cert. How can that be changed without a Court Order and what effect would that have on his children. I am researching a DANIEL JOSEPH STACK who was born Dec 24, 1886 in Ireland. I have found him in the 1920 and 1930 US Federal censuses living in New York City. He is my husband's great grandfather. He married MARY ANN AHERN in New York City about 1909. They had three daughters, Margaret, Anna, and Rosemary. I found a Daniel Stack who is the appropriate age that came over on the ship Cedric in October 1907. The Daniel Stack who appears in the 1920 & 1930 US censuses states he immigrated in 1908. I think he may be the same Daniel that came over on the Cedric. Daniel Stack left Queenstown, Ireland and arrived to Ellis Island on Oct 4, 1907. He was single and 19 or 20 years old. It looks like 20 was written on top of the 19. The ship's manifest says he is from Abbyfeale, Ireland. His closest relative is his father MICHAEL STACK from Moynsha, Abbyfeale. His passage was paid by a cousin GARRARD GARRETSON who lives in Mamaroneck, Westchester county, New York. In the 1910 US Federal census, there is a Garrard Garretson who lives in Mamaroneck and is a police captain there. The ship's manifest says that Daniel was discharged to his bro in law Peter? Deter? Dexter? Barnett? Garrett? (difficult to read). The passenger listed just above Daniel is also from Abbyfeale. Perhaps they knew each other. He is Daniel Broderick, 19 years, his closest relative is his mother Hanora from BallyMacJordan, Abbyfeale. His passage was paid by his brother Jeremiah (?) who lives at 324 43RD St in NYC. Looking into the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses, I find a Michael Stack and family as listed. I don't quite understand how all the place name listings should go, It's a lot more than city, county, state so I am just going to list them all. 1901 Kerry, N. Kerry, Listowel, Moynsha, Shanbally Abbyfeale, Clanmaurice, Duagh Michael Stack, 46 years old, railway carpenter, born in Co, Limerick Hanoria Stack 40 years old, wife, born in Co. Kerry Maurice Stack 19 years old, son, single, house carpenter, born in Co. Kerry John Stack 16 years old, son, single, born in Co. Kerry Daniel Stack 14 years old, son, born in Co. Kerry Michael Stack 12 years old, son, born in Co. Kerry Hanoria Stack 9 years old, daughter, born in Co. Kerry Stephen Stack, 7 years old, son, born Co. Kerry 1911 Kerry, N. Kerry, Listowel, Moynsha, Shanbally Abbyfeale, Clanmaurice, Duagh Michael Stack, 56 years old, carpenter, born in Co, Kerry Norah Stack 58 years old, wife, married 30 years, mother of 6 children, all living, born in Co. Kerry John Stack 25 years old, son, single, harnessmaker, born in Co. Kerry Michael Stack 22 years old, son, carpenter, born in Co. Kerry Hannie Stack 19 years old, daughter, born in Co. Kerry Stephen Stack, 17 years old, son, born Co. Kerry Daniel is absent from the family in 1911 but still living. He could very well be the one that sailed to America on the Cedric in 1907. I am looking to connect with anyone who may know something about this family. I am also looking to find the correct sequence of place names (ie. city, county, state)as they list in Ireland. Thanks, Lisa
I realize I sent out an email that wasn't meant to go out. It doesn't sound good, and can be misinterpreted. What I meant is that Patricia lives out of state and not in the MA area. I believe it would be helpful for her to search local records in the Lawrence area and this is difficult for her to do. I had hoped to meet her last spring, but she was unable to come to the Lawrence History Center. Patricia, do you want me to look up some of your Lawrence people in the Lawrence City Directories? Have you found them in the census? Have you checked LDS records? I belong to New England Historical Genealogical Society do you need a few records checked. Like Ed O'Connor, give some information and I may be able to help. Let me know I can help? Karen
