    2. Continued post... Listers: In a recent W.P.G.S. [Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society] newsletter, Volume 39, Number 5 there is an article about a historic Irish document called "Morpeth Roll". The article states it is available on Ancestry.com. When I searched the card catalog on Ancestry, this document is NOT listed. Does anyone know anything further about this document? It is reportedly 420 meters long, and has been digitized, and is considered a "pre-Famine census substitute, a genealogy resource, a family heirloom or a politically significant document". Am very curious to learn what this contains. Anyone? TIA. Marybeth C. acmbjc@aol.com

    2. Andy & Norma McAuliffe
    3. Michael: Although my g-grandmother Mary Callaghan, apparently from Dingle, predates your listing, I wonder if the slight differene in spelling is causing a problem. Both spellings were used in many cases for the same person. My Mary, d/o of Patrick Callaghan and Mary Howard was born in March 1830 in Kerry, married Andrew Fogarty in Paris, Ontario, Canada in 1852. Andrew was from Aghabeg, Co. Kerry and although Mary was shown as from Tralee, Dingle comes into the picture. She has one brother that we know of, Owen (Eugene), b. Abt 1816. We have never traced more of Patrick & Mary (Howard's) marriage or family so do not know of other siblings. At the time I was doing the research, getting records from Kerry was difficult. When in Ireland, we did not have the permission letters needed. Two of the Fogarty daughters married two McAuliffe brothers. Both Mary & Owen eventually were part of farming families in Glenelg Twp., Grey County, Ontario. All the given names are common in our family. Happy Canada Day! 2. Hi Michael, I have access to the tithe records. I believe the Landsdowne Estate records total two tons in weight. There is a graveyard attached to Killowen parish church which is now in ruins. 1850's the auxiliary workhouse was situated in Killowen. What was the name of the townland in Dromod that your Danahy's lived in?
