    2. For what it's worth.... We knew my family as Rowan and that's what we stuck with in our research. However, we started finding early U.S. records showing Roughan, Rohan, etc. Sure as shootin'...we found the records in Limerick as Roughan, Rohan, Roohan, etc. I never, ever, found my families as Rowan (in Limerick) in the Giffith's, baptisms, etc. My Galway side always used Welch in the U.S. When researching records in Galway, the name (in 1820's, 1840's) was exclusively Walsh.
