    1. Re: [IRL-GALWAY] Marriage of Edward BURKE to Bridget MURRY about 1867-8
    2. The Irish Family History Foundation site shows marriages for Bridget Murray and Edward Burke in Dunmore RC parish in 1869. Presumably this was to each other, but you can't tell for sure without viewing the transcript of one of the two records, which costs 5 euros. Unfortunately, the LDS film doesn't include the years 1861-76, so to see a photocopy of the actual record, you'd have to pay the Galway West Heritage Center or a researcher on the list provided by the National Library of Ireland, both of which have the missing years. If I were you, I'd get the information from the IFHF. If it doesn't include the parents of Edward and Bridget, you could then write the parish directly, since you'd have the exact date, and ask for a lookup. Diane

    1. [IRL-GALWAY] Edward BURKE wed to Bridget MURRY 1869

    3. I too would recommend downloading the IFHF Registration/s hoping you get lucky on the first downloaded image. However, if you wish to order the film.... the LDS pilot site for Civil Registration Indexes shows a Bridget MURRY marrying in Tuam, 1869, volume 4 page 607. It also shows a matching Edward BURKE marrying Tuam, volume 4 page 607. Its a pretty good indication its your couple...but there can be more than 1 marriage listed on a page, it just might be they ARE on that page...but wed to different people. Not likely but its possible.... That Marriage will be on film 101541 [1869 marriages, volume 4] seen as the handwritten original [same as you'd get from Roscommon or a Tuam Register office] with the names of the fathers of both bride and groom with the place of the ceremony. That film is orderable from a Family History Center. Make sure to take this number if you order, some volunteers do not know of these films' existence. When the film comes in [about 2 weeks] look for this marriage on page 607. Cost of one film in the US is $5.50 for a 5-6 week rental. Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA ==========================

    3. Dear Diane, Thanks, I have taken your advice and contacted IFHF,as hopefully their researcher will also be able to trace the Burkes back in Galway for me.
