I'm interested in the Roman Catholic Parish Records for Peterswell (Kilthomas) Parish, Co Galway. The LDS has the parish records on film beginning in 1854. Is this when Peterswell was first formed as a parish? Are there records existent before 1854?

I had a film for Peterswell out about 18 months ago and I found it disappointing as I wanted a baptism of Mary Cahill daughter of Patrick Cahill and Bridget O'Loughlin. There were some comments about other Parish books missing etc, and there was nothing for earlier dates. I may think about getting the film out again and going through it more slowly as I am having difficult finding anything on the parents, Mary had a brother Thomas who married a Sarah Skehill at Gort 17 March 1855. Both Mary and Thomas came to Queensland, have not found any other members of the family, surely there must be more family out there.
