Hi, I noticed that you mentioned Oates from the west of Ireland. My father Martin Oates (and his twin Thomas) were born in 1905 near Frenchpark in Roscommon. They were part of a big family, several of whom moved to the US. Let me know if this is of interest. I have a fair bit of information about my Oateses.
