Tom--I have been trying to put together all the dates with your probelm. The times of the Great Hunger were very difficult. People made all kinds of decisions that they and we w9ould not think posssible. It seems to me that the two girls were quite young when the parents emigrated. It might be possible that the parents left without them, leaving them with grandparents, relatives, or neighbors. I'm sure that if this was the case the idea was to send for the girls in short time once the parents were established and could send money. Maybe that took longer than they thought. As someone else already saidm they were fortunate to join up together, even with the length of time. Many families lost thenmselves completely Kathleen t --- On Tue, 12/30/08, Phyllis M.
