Rosaleen, did Charles Gallagher Noone live on West End Ave in New York City and have a wife Rose and a son Charles Peter Francis Noone born 20 Nov 1894? If so, online at ancestry.com, I found the family in the 1900 US census and also a World War I draft registration card for the younger Charles that states he was born at Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, Ireland and a naturalized US citizen. According to the 1900 US census, the younger Charles was the only child in this family born in Ireland - the rest were born in New York. I also found Rose Noone returning to the US with the children (James, Charlotte, Mary A, Domenick, Charles) on the ship Servia from Liverpool and Queenstown, arriving at New York on 19 Feb 1895. If you did not already know this, perhaps this information will give you some clue about your family in Ireland, even though it's not the generation you were asking about. The Mormon's index (IGI) has extractions from Irish civil registration births for some time periods, but your Charles Noone b. 1867 does not seem to be there. The East Galway Family History Society has records online at http://galwayeast.brsgenealogy.com/. Searching the indexes is free, but you must register. If you find something, it is 5 Euro per record. It looks like the records online for Peterswell (Kilthomas) RC parish don't begin until the 1850s (click "Sources" on the bar at the top of the page to see what records are included, and "Map" to go to other counties or societies, like Galway West). You might want to look around at neighboring parishes too and at records for County Leitrim, if Charles Peter Francis Noone is from your family.
