Barbara The LDS film no. 0979692 is for the parish records of 9 Galway RC parishes. They include Kinvarr(1831-53) which is the one I presume they are referring to. To check out the other parishes on the film: go to _www.familysearch.org_ (http://www.familysearch.org) Click on LIBRARY (options are HOME-SEARCH-SHARE-LIBRARY) Click on Family history library catalogue (underneath LIBRARY) Click on Film/Fiche search Enter 0979692 Cathy
There are two Kivara's in Galway. One in Connemara and spelled with two "r's" Kinvarra and the other near Kilcolgan and Oranmore. The Connemara one is pronounced "Kin WARRA" rather than a "v" sound. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CathOneill@aol.com> To: <IRL-GALWAY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 17, 2005 2:51 PM Subject: Re: [GALWAY] Advice needed, please! > Barbara > The LDS film no. 0979692 is for the parish records of 9 Galway RC > parishes. > They include Kinvarr(1831-53) which is the one I presume they are > referring > to. > > To check out the other parishes on the film: > go to _www.familysearch.org_ (http://www.familysearch.org) > Click on LIBRARY (options are HOME-SEARCH-SHARE-LIBRARY) > Click on Family history library catalogue (underneath LIBRARY) > Click on Film/Fiche search > Enter 0979692 > > > Cathy > > > ==== IRL-GALWAY Mailing List ==== > To unsub or change your Irl-Galway mailing mode: > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/IRL/IRL-GALWAY.html > Jane Lyons' From Ireland County Galway site: > http://www.from-ireland.net/contents/galwayconts.htm > > ============================== > New!
