The big drawback is if you want to look in a specific parish or townland, you can't .. you're limited to an entire county ... so it's a pig in a poke when buying a record that has no connection to the individual you are looking for.. You can now enter the father's name (if known) and the parish/district. If you click on the relevant record set on the first search page, the options for the wider search come up. An improvement, but I agree it would be great to be able to see more definite data before purchasing records - they are often not the ones wanted. This is a site that the Galway Library sent me It is a great site and you need to do it with intense searching Look at the top of the page under the header and if it comes up funny put it in google.
